Zodiac Settling the Score

The Zodiac is a serial killer that stalked young couples in various locations throughout the State of California during the 1960’s.  The Zodiac taunted police by sending cryptic letters and even called the authorities to notify them of some of his crimes.  The Zodiac mystery has been studied vigorously for years and many resources  have been expended on the case.

I never intentionally studied the Zodiac case.  I had heard of the murders, of course, and saw the movie Zodiac directed by David Fincher a year or two after its release.  I remember at the time not being too impressed with the suspect presented in the movie but I didn’t know that much about the case.

While I was attending a cold case seminar in December of 2014, I was watching a power point presentation on a serial killer.  I was daydreaming because I had already seen a documentary on the suspect.  During the middle of the lecture the instructor asked if the suspect had changed his Modus Operandi and the question hit me.  I felt in that moment I knew the identity of the infamous Zodiac.

After I retired, I researched my theory and I was stunned by the number of connections between my prime suspect and the Zodiac.  I wrote a book entitled Zodiac Settling the Score and released it prior to any editing because I knew the suspect was in ill health.  I truly felt any hopes of the case being solved outweighed any literary aspirations.
